ASAM Comments on HRSA Reentry Program Guidance

Today, ASAM provided comments to the Health Resources and Services Administration on the draft program guidance regarding justice-involved individuals reentering the community. This program guidance seeks to allow health centers to provide certain healthcare services, including treatment for substance use disorder (SUD) to individuals reentering the community 90 days before release. ASAM noted the exclusion of pre-trial detainees from this guidance and called on HRSA rescind the omission. ASAM also requested that HRSA update terminology reference medications for opioid use disorder.
