ASAM Encourages CMS to Strengthen Medicaid Parity Regulations

ASAM joined over 60 organization signatories in a letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regarding proposed guidance and templates for parity compliance in Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

The letter encouraged CMS to strengthen the Medicaid parity regulations by aligning them with parity regulations recently finalized for commercial plans. The letter also recommended that CMS amend the templates and guidance documents to more closely align with the federal parity statute and regulations.
