Mark Gold, MD, FASAM, Wins John P. McGovern Award

ASAM honored Mark S. Gold, MD, FASAM, with its John P. McGovern Award at The 46th ASAM Annual Conference in Austin, TX during its Annual Awards Luncheon on Saturday, April 25, 2015.

Dr. Gold is a translational researcher, author, and inventor best known for his pioneering work on the brain systems underlying the effects of opiate drugs, cocaine, and food. He was the first Editor of Addiction Medicine for Up To Date and the author of many practice guidelines, ASAM papers and texts for clinicians.
