ASAM Joins Letter Urging US Senate to Protect Medicaid

On March 26, ASAM and over 300 organizations sent a letter to U.S. Senate Majority Leader John Thune that called upon the Senate to reject the House-passed budget resolution. If passed, the House bill would lead to disastrous cuts across Medicaid, which is the single largest payer of mental health and substance use disorder services. The letter underscores that such significant cuts to the program would severely impact state budgets and may lead to reduced eligibility or the elimination of important health services.
