ASAM Signs Onto Letter Urging Increased Funding for the CDC's Office of Smoking and Health
On March 16th, ASAM signed onto letters to the U.S. House and Senate Chairs and Ranking Members of the Committee on Appropriation's Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies, urging them to increase funding for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Office on Smoking and Health (OSH). OSH plays a vital role in addressing tobacco use, providing grants to states and territories to support tobacco prevention and cessation programs, runs a highly successful national media campaign, conducts tobacco use research, and develops best practices for reducing tobacco use.
