Penny S.Mills, MBA, to Receive 2021 James H. Tharp Award
Penny S. Mills, MBA, former Executive Vice President/CEO of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) was nominated by ASAM and received the 2021 James H. Tharp Award. This annual trust award is given to the individual that has contributed most toward the solution of the problem of alcoholism.
This honor includes a monetary contribution of $10,000 to Ms. Mills’ chosen charity, Cornell University's Sloan Program in Healthcare Administration. Ms. Mills has been working with The Sloan Program that trains healthcare administrators to ensure that students learn about addiction so that wherever they work in the future in the healthcare field, they ensure that patients have access to treatment and are treated with compassion.
ASAM and its allies in the field are grateful for all Penny has brought to addiction medicine.
