ASAM encourages you to use your voice, expertise, and knowledge to increase addiction prevention, treatment, remission, and recovery through volunteer opportunities. Here you will find opportunities to serve on ASAM’s councils, committees, subcommittees as well as task force groups. Terms of service can be short or long-term depending on the charge of the group.

 2025 Annual Conference Mentor

JAM Accepting Applications for Statistical Editor (2025-2027)

Exceptional candidates for the position will possess a doctoral degree, have experience in scientific publishing,  and substantial knowledge of statistical methods including pharmacoepidemiology, implementation science and causal inference. 

The Statistical Editors are appointed to renewable 3-year terms, offering an exciting opportunity to advance addiction medicine and shape the future of academic publishing. Annual stipend is available.

The Membership Council is responsible for supporting the vision, mission and goals outlined in the strategic plan. The Council identifies member challenges and needs and develops key strategies, to provide insight on membership recruitment, engagement and retention. Call for Applications - Correctional Settings and Reentry Workgroups

ASAM is accepting applications for expert writing group members to develop and draft the Correctional Settings and Reentry Volume of the Fourth Edition of The ASAM Criteria. Writing groups will provide expertise to develop the foundation for jail, prison, and reentry treatment standards and narrative content for the textbook.
