Biography

jacksonteresa-wwwTeresa Jackson, MD, DFASAM started her addiction medicine career in Tucson, Arizona, while participating in a physician health program. She worked with both Medicaid and private patients in Arizona, providing inpatient and outpatient treatment for substance use disorders.

In March of 2018, Dr. Jackson moved to the beautiful Pacific Northwest to work as the Medical Director of addiction medicine at Evergreen Health in the Seattle area. She is currently the Medical Director of Lakeside-Milam Recovery Centers, the largest treatment program in Washington state.

Her philosophy on treating addiction is to be kind and support patients with substance use disorders. Punishment and shame do not heal. Her treatment approach is to support and practice a harm reduction model and medication-assisted treatment. She aspires to work in the field of physician health programs and promote tobacco-free treatment for patients with substance use disorders.

Dr. Jackson volunteers in her local community consulting and fundraising for the Bellevue Salvation Army and with the Washington Society of Addiction Medicine. She earned her Doctor of Medicine and Bachelor of Science from the University of Arizona. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys running, triathlons, and alpine skiing. She lives in Bellevue, Washington, with her husband and their two dogs.
