Fellow Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How many ASAM Fellows are there? ASAM’s Fellow program (FASAM) began in 1996. Since that time, 230 Physicians have been granted Fellow status for their significant contributions to the Society and to the field of addiction medicine.

What are the criteria to apply? To qualify to become a Fellow of ASAM, you must meet rigorous criteria such as being a member for at least five consecutive years, giving significant service to the Society, and making considerable contributions in certain areas

Computer Testing in 2008

Computer Testing for the December 6, 2008 Certification and Recertification Exam will take place at over 400 Prometric Test Centers Nationally and Internationally. [Computer Testing Policies and Procedures 2008]

The ASAM Board of Directors approved a plan to seek specialty recognition of Addiction Medicine.
